Photo Share Podcast #13: Podcast Rolling

by Bill Hector Weye on March 4, 2008

Skytop MotelThis week we begin our series of interviews starting with Noble and John who produce Exposure: The Photography Podcast for Serious Amateurs. You might be interested in their podcast because it’s more of a how-to podcast that discusses and tries to teach you some of the concepts of both film and digital photography. Both Sandra and I’ve found Exposure useful, so maybe you will too.

We have one interview a week planned into the future, and what we have in the can thus far is pretty damn good.

Our photo of the week, voted on by visitors to our PSP Website (you can find the voting application in the sidebar), comes from Lowell_Mariannika. Thanks for the contribution!

And finally, our question of the week, which you can answer on the PSP Flickr group, is  “What features do you find most useful on Flickr?” That’s a tough one for me; there’s still a handful of features I’ve never tried!

Thanks for listening. Have a good week.

If you are looking for a “how to podcast” check out http://www.schoolofpodcasting.net

What player are you using for yoru podcast. That doesn’t look like podpress, or 1 pixle.

Hi Dave,

Yes, we use podpress, but I’ve customized it. Thanks for checking us out.

Hey guys, I don’t see the question of the week at the Flickr group? What features do you find most useful??

I finally listened to this show today on the ride to and from work.

I loved what you said Sandra about your experience of digital vs film. How it all “clicked” when you got practice with your digital camera. I never thought of it that way, and it makes so much sense.

My “clicking” moment (and I suppose I am not 100% clicked, but maybe 85% clicked) came when I started my search/research for a dSLR and lenses. After reading reviews about which lenses were “fast” and why, for some reason it clicked and I started to understand it.

For all my past years (even with my film SLR) I never got it through my head, even with cheat sheets.

thanks for a great show, guys. I will see you on flickr!

Thanks for the heads up Deb! It’s not the first time I forgot to post the new question…

Digital photography has been the best tool (for me) to understand the way a camera works. I am finally at the point where I am ready to upgrade to a DSLR!! Big step for me. Nothing spectacular, just an entry level camera that I am sure I will ‘outgrow’ before too long. But that’s a good thing!

Thanks again for listening as well as your podcast help we hope to share with our audience at some point. ;o)

Which one are you buying, Sandra?

Sandra Pipczynski March 6, 2008 at 11:47 pm

It will likely be the Olympus Evolt E510 as a kit.

I know someone who just purchased an Evolt. Sounds like a great camera!
